Happy Nude Year

Here’s hoping the coming year brings much hope and pleasure to all after this most unusual of years.

Peace and Love to all.

Nude In A Gas Mask (A Normal Day Out)

Although nudity should just be accepted anyway, it’s still very much not accepted by many. This is a great shame. I won’t rant on this post as i tend to get carried away.

This year has also seen a global pandemic. People in the UK have had to become accustomed to wearing masks whilst out shopping, though of course there are those who are exempt. Some people have fought against this ruling, yet some countries wear masks during the flu season, and it seems to help, so why not go along with it. If it doesn’t harm you and may help, then give it a try. It can be a new fashion item.
To make a point i decided to use a gas mask in photos and videos.

So here’s a short clip to try and normalise nudity and masks on a day out. In this clip i find a cave…

Is It Safe Yet?

I’ve been hiding away in my cave and not sure it’s safe to come out yet.

Leaving the cave.

This was taken in collaboration with my good friend Vicki with a circular fisheye lens.

Sometimes you have to lay down for a while…

I was out with my friend Vicki recently, which is good as she encourages me to get naked and try a few photos. It’s also good that she understands cameras so can help me with the photo side rather than me having to sort it all myself.
Anyway, we found a spot that looked good for trying out some photos, this being the one i prefer most.
Vicki liked to see both colour and black and white versions, but for me, it was always going to be black and white.

Having not really had much chance to strip off for quite a while, whether for art photos, or just the enjoyment of being naked outdoors, then it’s been really good to have the chance, and to have someone not only comfortable with nudity, but actively encouraging it, and someone who understands photography and something of the art of the nude.

Into The Unknown!

When heading into the unknown you should always make sure you wear appropriate clothing…

National Nude Day

A friend shared a link with me about it being National Nude Day. Well it would be rude to not go nude wouldn’t it. So i headed out to find a nice quiet spot, and it was a very pleasant early evening for relaxing in the woods.

OK, so i was wearing shoes, but trying to wander through the undergrowth in bare feet was proving to be impractical.

Nudity Rocks! But Sadly No Skinny Dip.

I recently had a few days away in Pembrokeshire. It’s a lovely area, and i knew a good place by the sea that i’d visited some years back with a girlfriend. I probably didn’t choose the best time to visit as a big storm was blowing in, but it’s when i happened to have a few days off work. After driving through torrential rain and strong winds, there was a brief break in the weather when i arrived. Despite winds of 30-50mph (50-80kph) i took a walk on the beach. Water from the sea and sand mixed together to give me a good blasting, but it was also quite exhilarating. Eventually i went back to the car, cooked food, and had to settle for the night as yet more heavy rain came in.

The next morning was a lot clearer. I headed out as the sun rose and wandered down to the beach again. I remember from my previous visit that you get a lot of dog walkers around there, but we’d still managed a bit of skinny dipping. Despite seeing a few people about it became very quiet for a while. The wind was still just as strong so i think it kept some people away until later. I stripped off around some rocks at the end of the beach. It was nice to walk and explore for a while without clothes. I contemplated heading out to the sea for a dip. With the tide going out, seriously strong winds and the sheer quantity of waves, i realised it could be quite a risk on my own. Although the sea would be quite cold, it’s also a problem when coming out wet with strong cold winds. I was already feeling quite cold despite the sun now being out, so i relaxed for a little longer and then dressed again.

Back at the car i met a lovely couple from Bristol in their camper van. We had a nice chat and i made a nice hot coffee and warmed up again.

I visited a few places during the day and made the most of the good weather, then returned to the same spot in the late afternoon. I wandered down to the beach again and hoped for a good sunset as the conditions all day suggested it could be really good. Unfortunately the next storm clouds started rolling in across the sea and brought an end to the sunset hopes. But i went back to the same area i’d been in the morning. After chatting to a few people i found myself alone again. Off came the clothes as i watched the non sunset. It was still really nice as the sun dropped and the clouds built up, but boy was it getting cold in the wind. Still, i had a good wander about before having to dress and head back to cook dinner.

The storm was again quite fierce during the night, and the rain carried on the next day. I really wanted to go for a naked wander in the rain along the beach, but it was really not practical. Eventually i had to head home after visiting a couple more places. Despite not getting as much time naked as i’d have liked, it was a fine trip that helped clear away some of the stresses of work.

Woodland Wildlife

If you put cameras in the woods to film the wildlife, you may get capture something you didn’t expect.

Naked Wander On A Foggy Day

We had some wonderful fog this week. Getting home from work Wednesday lunchtime after a couple of days away, i decided to have food and head out to the Peak District to get a few photos. I reached Burbage Edge and decided to try around that area. The trees and rocks can look good in the fog. It was cold and windy on the top, but quite sheltered on the path below. I took some photos and then relaxed for a while under a tree.

I realised that it was pretty quiet and it’d probably be a good chance to strip off and have a naked wander. I could hear some female heading my way, and a dog barking, so i sat and waited as they explored the area just 50-80 metres away. Even that close i could only see shadowy figures. After a short while they wandered to the path below and walked past. It was a woman with three teenage girls and a dog. They all seemed to be having a good time.

Once they were out of sight i stripped off. It was really nice to feel the gentle breeze against the skin, it’s been a while since i had the chance to feel it. There was also a pleasant dampness in the air. I explored around for perhaps half an hour, taking a few photos along the way, before dressing and moving down the path to look for a spot i’ve done some art nudes in the past. I didn’t find it as i ended up very close to the woman and girls again, so i walked away until i found a nice quiet spot again.

In this new spot i’d found i stripped off and decided to grab some video. Time flies whilst wandering around getting photos and video. I was there for an hour or more. I walked around the area and enjoyed the feel of the air again. Despite a couple of people coming along i could hear them well before the came into view. This allowed me to be discreet. Eventually i decided it was time to go. My hair was dripping wet from the fog, and my skin quite moist. It was really nice and refreshing.

The sad part about this is the way i felt i needed to be discreet. Would it have mattered if i’d been seen by the woman and girls?. How about the man who walked past on the path below? Or the woman walking on her own? Would it really have mattered?
Part of my fear is that i’m a male on my own so what reaction would i get? Some people get so worked up about the human body and, as a male, would i be seen as a pervert? Would it be the same or different for a lone female in the nude?
I’ve been seen when naked in the countryside, mostly from a distance. The time when people have been quite close it’s tended to just bring about surprise and a few giggles, so is there really a risk, or is it just personal fear?
If you look at comments on the internet after naked events, such as the World Naked Bike Ride, there’s always those few who make nasty threatening remarks. Should we take those people seriously and be cautious? Or should we ignore them and be bold?

Here’s a few photos, and below i’ll embed the video from Vimeo.

My Video skills are very poor so the editing is very simple, and i managed to not add music that i had planned. I think i need some practice…

Naked Dash In The Snow At Stanage

I went out for a days photography with my mate Gary a week ago. The weather was pretty poor with grey skies and rain. But as we traveled into the Peak District it was snowing, and with low clouds, it was quite foggy too. Not only was this good for photos, but it was a chance, at last, to strip off and have a quick run about in the snow. Just below the top of Stanage Edge seemed to be a good spot as it was quite deserted. It was a tad chilly, but not being up on top kept me out of the wind a bit so was bearable.

Gary was doing some video on my camera and caught me running into the scene from the bottom left. Here’s some stills taken from it.
